Fine quality light brown crocodile skin 70s handbag

This immaculate light brown crocodile skin handbag dates from the 1970s I believe.  The bag is in superb unused condition and has great functionality - it would be easy and reliable to use on a daily basis.

This bag has all the attributes one might need for a super day bag.  The crocodile skin pocket on the front would be ideal for a small change purse, tube ticket or passport!  The bag itself is opened and closed with the gilt fittings at the top.  There are two circular tubes on either side of the fitting the one on the right actually twists to lock.  When you untwist and press the two together that opens the bag.

Once open the bag reveals a pristine suede interior with a zipped pocket to one side and an open pocket to the other.  The bag is a fairly heavy construction and is crocodile skin throughout.  The base is finished with two gilt strips to prevent the skin from coming into contact with a wet surface.  The small handle and the removable shoulder strap are attached by very smart gilt fittings.

The bag measures 32.5 cms/13" wide, 20 cms/8" high and is 11 cms/4.5" across the width.  The small handle is 33 cms/13" long and the shoulder strap measures 80 cms/31.5" from where it attaches to the link on the frame of the bag.

I have seldom had a bag of this period which is in such perfect condition and the size is great.
