Charles Jourdan Black Crocodile Skin Evening Bag

This is an exquisite handbag made in the 60s/70s I think.  It really is an evening crocodile bag which is fairly uncommon.  The small slim shape make this an ideal accompaniment for a cocktail outfit

The handbag is made in high quality black crocodile skin and is finished with three gilt features.  The front is fastened with an elegant open gilt rectangle, at the bottom of which is a smaller gilt rectangle with a tooled finish - you slightly push the bottom piece of this to release the catch and then press to close.

This feature is echoed with two gilt bars again tooled to match the catch, which attach the handle to the top of the bag.  On the reverse of the bag there is a flat open pocket - ideal for your theatre ticket!

The simple flap over style is only 8.5"/21.5 cms across, 7"/18 cms high and is just over 1"/3cms wide.  From tip to tip the handle measures 14.5"/37 cms long, half an inch on eitherside sits on top of the bag.

The inside othe bag is fine calfskin.  On the back wall of the bag is the zipped pocket which still has the leather tab to pull open.  On the front of the pocket is Charles Jourdan Paris stamped in gold.  On the opposite side there is an open pocket for a mirror and lipstick.  The mirror pocket has a gilt metal semicircle cutout for ease of use.

There is also a embellished 'G' logo on this side which I have seen before on handbags but at the moment - the name escapes me!

I have cherished this bag for many months but it's time it had an outing!  Hope someone thinks so too.
