Trendy 60s Brown Crocodile Skin Shoulder Bag

This handbag has all the makings of a 60s space age look.  There is a famous photo of Twiggy modelling a white jumpsuit by Yves Saint Laurent in 1967 and she is wearing two shoulder bags across her body and this is of the same ilk!

This elongated brown crocodile skin shoulder bag with simple geometric two tone gilt and chrome clasp could only be called trendy!  The flap over front if opened by pressing down on the bottom of the chrome circle and that is just pushed in to close.  The central section is croc covered and the other expanding sections are in dark brown leather.

The bag measures 26 cms/10.25" high and is 21 cms/8.25 across.  The handle measures 80 cms/31.5" to where it meets the chrome hinged loop fitting.  The bag measures 7 cms/3" across the bottom width but this can be extended with the kind of concertina design of the bag.

When open the bag has 3 distinct sections.  The front section has a flap over press stud closing pocket.  The middle section is empty and the back section has a zipped and open pocket with original mirror.  On the front panel there is another section when you open the bag.  The bag is in good order including the crocodile skin handle.

I don't what it is about the bag but it evokes memories and is somewhat iconic of its time.
