1960s Python Skin Handbag

This lovely handbag has found its way onto my website because of the condition and the colour. I really love this butter coloured python skin and the bag has hardly been used at all. The skin retains its sheen and warmth. The bag is very nice rounded boxy shape and is completed with simple elegant gilt fittings.

This lovely handbag has found its way onto my website because of the condition and the colour. I really love this butter coloured python skin and the bag has hardly been used at all. The skin retains its sheen and warmth.

The bag is very nice rounded boxy shape and is completed with simple elegant gilt fittings. The closure is made up of two rings of gilt with a gilt bar which lifts to open and shuts with a nice ‘snap’. The handles are attached into gilt posts which are fixed to the gilt frame and on the front are mounted onto a padded panel of snakeskin which completes the bag very well.

The bag is lined with black suede and has the normal two pockets, one open and one with a zip. The bag measures 10”/25 cms wide and 8”/20 cms high. The width at its widest is 3.5”/9 cms and the handles measure 13”/33 cms.

Altogether this is a pleasing handbag!
