Blond 1940s Python Skin Handbag and Shoes

This is a lovely set of matching handbag and shoes. I wouldn’t normally put these together – but I bought them together and they do match perfectly so I hope someone might like to buy them both! This set of handbag and shoes would go so well with a 40s brown, grey or black suit – I can see it in my minds eye – I hope you can too.

This is a lovely set of matching handbag and shoes. I wouldn’t normally put these together – but I bought them together and they do match perfectly so I hope someone might like to buy them both!

The small python bag is ‘natural’ coloured and is that lovely combination of soft black, grey and cream. The scales are a little raised in places but there is not damage at all and it’s quite nice to touch as long as you haven’t got a thing about snakes.

The gilt horseshoe shaped clasp is lined with snakeskin. You lift it to open and snap to close. Inside the bag is lined with camel coloured suede which is in fabulous condition, it looks unused. There are two open pockets both trimmed in snakeskin. The bag measures 8.5”/21 cms across and is 7.5”/19 cms high. The width is just over 3”/8 cms and the handle measures 15.5”/39 cms.

The shoes are a classic UK size 4, EU size 37 or USA size 6.5. The python has been used to create a classic court shoe with a good arched shape. The pleasant round toe looks and feels great – they are my size!! Eat your heart out Cinderella! The heel measures 3.5”/9 cms. The shoes are finished around the edge with dark brown material piping which is in great condition and just gives that touch of class.

This set of handbag and shoes would go so well with a 40s brown, grey or black suit – I can see it in my minds eye – I hope you can too.
